![]() That way it would be easy to tell what you were supposed to be doing, as sometimes the characters won’t remind you if you go and talk to them again. Carto is a young girl who is flying along with her. Something I would suggest for Carto is maybe adding an objective log of some kind. Carto is a Puzzle Game by Sunhead Games, available for Windows, Mac, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Sunhead Games' Carto is an odd little puzzle game. There weren’t too many puzzles that just relied on you looking for something and bringing it back to whoever wanted it, which I personally think is quite an overused quest type in games. Carto Review: Unique, But Not For Long By Cody Peterson Published Carto features a unique map-building mechanic to solve puzzles, but there aren't many other innovative features to hold a player's attention. ![]() Whether helping a shepherd find his lost sheep, searching for a water source deep in the desert, discovering a mysterious iceberg, or just entering a local fishing competition, I was always more than happy to help out. Carto (Switch) Review by Neal Ronaghan - October 26, 2020, 9:00 pm EDT Discuss in talkback 9.5 A charming map tile-shifting puzzle game with a memorable personality. Although the whole mechanic with the map is what allows Carto to stand out from a huge crowd of games, the characters are what kept me really engaged. There are no time limits or impending threats to worry about, and the art style is a beautifully unique take. On your quest to find your granny again, you’ll explore multiple different worlds and help out the characters who live there. The story of Carto is an adorable and wholesome one that I absolutely loved experiencing. Carto (2020) is an adventure puzzle game that is unusual in letting you rearrange the map tiles while you are playing. Once you finish a chapter and go on to a new one, your old map pieces will be left behind, so the map screen doesn’t get cluttered. You’ll find yourself constantly shifting and rotating things to navigate through this adorable little world. This takes a little getting used to, but if it wasn’t there then the game would be too easy! Once you place a map piece, it’s not there to stay. The blend of soothing puzzle gameplay and optimistic story makes Carto both a top-shelf. For example, if you have a piece with a forest on it, you can’t have it next to a grassland piece. I was left satisfied but still wanting more at the end of the adventure. Pieces can only be placed next to other pieces with the same border.
